Biker Sees Starving Kitten in Traffic and Saves It with a Cozy Ride Home in Her Backpack

April 7, 2025Cat14

Matea was cycling home after a long day when something unusual caught her eye near a busy intersection.

In the middle of the traffic and noise, she spotted a small, fragile figure—an emaciated kitten barely clinging to strength.

"As I reached the crossing, I spotted a little ball of fluff, a tiny, visibly emaciated kitten," she recalled.

Without hesitation, Matea got off her bike and approached the kitten, who didn't resist her kindness. The little cat allowed itself to be picked up, as if it knew help had finally arrived.

Wanting to keep it safe on the ride home, Matea gently tucked the kitten into her backpack. At the time, the kitten was all skin and bones, clearly in need of immediate care.

Despite its poor condition, the kitten seemed to understand it was finally safe. It relaxed and even fell asleep during the ride.

"I tucked my dress into the back of my bag, and at first, she was a bit grumpy, but I think she eventually realized she could relax and sleep," Matea said with a smile.

This simple act of compassion not only saved the kitten's life, but also marked the beginning of a bond built on empathy and trust.

Matea's quick thinking and gentle heart gave a helpless animal the comfort and protection it had been missing—and a chance at a new life.
