Brave Yorkie Missy: Toronto's Hero After Defending Her Owner from a Coyote

In a remarkable display of courage, a Yorkshire Terrier named Missy has become the talk of Toronto after she valiantly defended her young owner, Lily Cowan, during a frightening encounter with a coyote.

The entire incident was caught on video, revealing Missy's fearless attempt to shield 10-year-old Lily as she called for help.

Lily recounts the tense moments with vivid detail. "I was screaming and banging on doors," she remembers, highlighting the unexpected nature of the attack that occurred in plain sight.

Despite being much smaller than the coyote, Missy stood her ground, ensuring Lily stayed unharmed.

In the process of protecting Lily, Missy sustained injuries, including serious wounds to her leg and body that require surgical treatment.

Touched by Missy's heroic actions, Lily's mother, Dorothy Kwan, initiated a GoFundMe campaign to help pay for Missy's medical care. The community's response has been heartening, as contributions quickly surpassed the campaign's initial goal.

"Missy's willingness to protect us is just incredible," Dorothy shares with pride, describing Missy as "our little heroine."
