From Trash to Treasure: Kratos's Incredible Transformation and Journey to a Loving Home!

The discovery of Kratos came on a cold day when volunteers from Rescuers Without Borders found him trapped in a muddy hole within the toxic landfill.

His desperate expression spoke volumes, hinting at a past life where he likely had a loving home before being discarded like trash.

Sadly, Kratos's story is not unique in Turkey. Animal activists have rescued over 800 abandoned dogs from landfills in just the past two months. Many others perish before help arrives.

Rescuers believe these dogs are often abandoned when they become old, sick, or simply no longer useful to their owners.

Despite the grim circumstances, Rescuers Without Borders has made it their mission to rehabilitate these "landfill dogs."

Hundreds have been rescued and, remarkably, despite their traumatic experiences, these dogs are often friendly and eager to please. However, the rescue efforts have been hampered by the high cost of care, ranging from $800 to $2,000 per dog.

Kratos's recovery has been slow but steady. Due to his weakened immune system, healing has taken time. But there's good news: his fur has begun to grow back, and he is expected to make a full recovery within the next couple of months. Once fully recovered, Kratos will be ready to find his forever home.
