Rescuers were compelled to act in order to save the pair of cats, so they gathered them and transported them to safety. The mother of the kittens required immediate medical treatment, so she was sent to a veterinary facility for surgery.

Fortunately, the procedure spared the kitten's life; nevertheless, the kittens were taken to an animal shelter for care.
