Despite her sufferings, LuLu's extraordinary perseverance kept her alive. This tenacious vigour attracted the notice of a kind volunteer. Following consultation with the owner, the decision was made to free LuLu from her decade-long imprisonment.

LuLu was unexpectedly quiet on the way to the hospital. She curled up on the seat without making a sound or fuss, possibly due to physical weakness or the realisation that a kind-hearted lady was on her way to save her. Her demeanour was impressively controlled.
