Despite how hard no-kill animal shelters strive to find permanent homes for the creatures in their care, every now and then a dog is overlooked by potential adopters, despite the shelter's best efforts.

Dahlia is one of these dogs. The American Staffordshire Terrier Mix has spent her entire life at the Santa Barbara Humane Society. She arrived at the age of six months. The shelter's longest resident, who is now 7 years old, needs a forever home, so volunteers there are working to find him one.
