One day, while going down the street, a group of animal lovers found Pataco and Patacona in a bad situation. These two pups were dumped out into the street, and they were suffering from malnutrition and skin issues. Pataco was also crippled, he couldn't walk correctly due of a crooked spine. Nonetheless, despite their bad health, Pataco and Patacona were incredibly sociable and loving. They rushed over to the animal lovers and kissed their hands. This expression of love and trust touched the hearts of the rescuers, and they decided to take them to the vet.

The vet checked Pataco and Patacona and found out that they had skin issues, malnutrition, and parasites. Pataco's vertebrae was crooked, and he needed a neck-to-tail brace to correct it. Patacona was quite young, yet she was facing a lot of agony. The vet advised surgery to correct her issue. The animal lovers understood that they had to act immediately to save the lives of these two defenseless puppies. They launched a campaign to gather cash for their medical expenditures, and many people gave generously.
