A torrential rainstorm had hit the town the previous night, causing the river's current to surge with an unforgiving force. Among the many unfortunate consequences of the storm was a litter of puppies, born to a stray dog who had sought refuge near the riverbank. The river's unexpected swell was too much for the little puppies, and they were helplessly swept away downstream.

But, as fate would have it, one puppy managed to cling to a floating log and survived the turbulent journey. As the sun rose on the new day, the puppy found itself washed ashore near a quaint cottage on the outskirts of the town. The cottage was home to a brave and kind-hearted dog named Max.
